James joined our 5th Cohort of Create Futures Graduates. Studying film at New College, Swindon. James now has incredible success as a AC/ DOP for many projects from big budget sets, to working within the local community.

Primarily self taught, he began his career as a DoP through means of short narrative films and documentaries; eventually working on and shooting feature films, tv dramas, advertisements and TVC.

Having served over 7 years in the British Army, this was his first career and surprisingly assisted him majorly, shaping him into the DoP he is today.

He learned the art of moving picture first prior to photography, James’ is often wandering around with camera in hand learning the ways of the photographer (digital and film), and often freelances on our shoots!
