After her husband leaves her for another woman, Mildred decides to do whatever she can to support her children through economic hardship. She manages to give them the life she hopes, but their lowered social status causes a rift between Mildred and her eldest daughter, Veda.
Joan Crawford’s show stealing performance earned her an Academy Award, and became a definitive film of her career at the time.
Free hands on workshop: Our screening will be accompanied by a free Christmas card-making craft workshop at 2:30pm, offering the opportunity to cosy up and craft some wonderful Christmas cards before indulging in the dramatics of Mildred Pierce.
