The film takes place entirely in a Manhattan bar, floating through tales of friendship, art, love and a myriad of glamourous stars and friends that contemplate life with Hart.
Hawke’s performance as Hart has been heralded as a possible best actor nomination, swapping his usual broody and contemplative roles for this larger than life take on a musical legend.
Richard Linklater’s latest film serves as a bittersweet farewell to Lorenza Hart, as he contemplates his life’s work, relationships and happiness with the help of his gossipy associates of Old New York.
