SOFA SCREENINGS

In the early 1980s, a group of lesbian and gay activists band together to raise money for the families of those affected by the British miners’ strike. Punctuated by the iconic sound of the time, Pride offers an evocative portrait of the merging of two worlds against an establishment hell-bent on crushing individuality among the working class, and what solidarity can look like when we look beyond difference.

This screening is part of Rip It Up, a UK-wide season celebrating British youth culture on screen, made possible thanks to National Lottery Good Cause funding through the BFI Film Audience Network. We will also be hosting a zine workshop beforehand with Hilltop Club, a local Swindon arts club.
