SOFA SCREENINGS

Two young brothers are swept up in the noise and chaos of Lagos when their estranged father takes them into the city for the day. Things take a turn however, as an impending election result looms over the city, threatening to cause political unrest and outage.

Set during the 1993 Nigerian election crisis, Akinola Davies Jr’s debut feature offers a poetic portrait of a father’s attempts to bring about a better life for his sons. This semi-biographical story has wowed audiences alike, and won Davies Jr the Outstanding debut by a British writer.
