Ruth Goldman, an elderly woman suffering from dementia, stays in an assisted living home. There, she needs to deal with different people, routines and environments while her identity and desires transform.
Familiar Touch is a coming-of-old-age film following an older woman’s transition into assisted living as she contends with her conflicting relationship with herself and her caregivers amidst her shifting memory, age identity, and desires.
This screening is part of Knitflix, a relaxed screening focused on letting you get creative while enjoying a brilliant film!
You’re welcome to bring any craft to our screening, and work on it while the film plays! This includes crochet, knitting, drawing etc (but sadly nothing too messy like paint). This screening will also be in low-lighting.
