Eve Whelan

Alumni

Eve graduated with a BA in Film and Television from the University of Bristol in 2023. Since then, she has built a diverse career in film exhibition, programming, and event coordination across the South West. Eve is currently a BFI Spotlight Assistant at Sofa Screenings, an independent cinema in Swindon, where she manages film programming, DCP projection, marketing, and event coordination. This role has sharpened her ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and deliver projects on tight deadlines.

As a Create Futures alumni, Eve gained valuable experience producing promotional videos, coordinating shoots, and handling pre-production tasks. She also volunteers and freelances at Sofa Screenings, expanding her skills in content creation and social media marketing.

Eve has contributed to several festivals, including the BFI Future Film Festival and Wildscreen, working as a pre-selector and roaming reporter, further demonstrating her commitment to supporting emerging filmmakers and film culture.

With expertise in editing (Premiere Pro, DaVinci), strong organisational skills, and a passion for independent cinema, Eve is steadily making her mark in film programming and exhibition.
