supported by the ScreenSkills Unscripted TV Skills Fund
Get ready for an incredible opportunity right here at Create Studios! We’re thrilled to host and lead the Unscripted TV Skills Fund Junior Editor Programme, aimed at nurturing 20 edit assistants/assistant editors across the UK as they transition to junior editors.
This fully funded course will cover:
- 6 days hands-on training from an industry-experienced editor Nolan Hobdell covering Avid Media Composer software, and the creative storytelling skills needed to step up to junior editor.
- Laptops and full licence for the latest version Avid Media Composer software
- A paid work placement for each participant (part-funding available for the employer)
- Monthly mentor online meetings during the work placement period with course tutors and optional pastoral support on a flexible basis.
WHO IT’s for
The aim of this training programme is to support edit assistants/assistant editors across the UK.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Have at least 12 months of experience as an assistant editor/editor assistant
- Be a UK resident and have the right to work here
- Be available to attend all in-person training dates in Swindon for either Cohort 1 or Cohort 2 as listed in the ‘What it covers’ section below.
We always welcome applications from under-represented groups, including, but not limited to: those from Minority Ethnic Groups; people with a disability; people from the LGBTQ+ community and those from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
This is a nationwide scheme so we welcome applications from across the UK. We want to ensure the barriers to this training are minimal, therefore, we will cover, travel to, and accommodation and subsistence while in Swindon for the bootcamps.
If you would like support completing the application form and/or would like us to send it to you in an alternative format, please email: USF@screenskills.com
If you are a line-manager within a post-facility and want one of your edit assistants/assistant editors to participate, please note that the application must be submitted by them, not you. They will be asked, however, to list your details for contact in their application.
